Health/Fitness Goals

My health is my priority and I do all that I can to make sure I treat my body well and eat healthy. Although truthfully,I wasn't always of this mindset. As an adult I have always been at a healthy weight, but after turning thirty I really needed to work at it. I could no longer eat the same amount of food with out easily gaining a few pounds. I am only 5'2" and believe me just a few extra pounds made me feel uncomfortable and drained. I really disliked that!
In 2008, after years of denial I finally accepted that I suffered from PMDD and decided I could no longer put my poor family through my severe mood swings associated with my mentrual cycle. I'm telling y'all I had some serious HIGHS and LOWS. My doctor suggested that I take meds, but after a lot of research I decided against her advice. I have taken an alternative more natural route and I have seen a lot of changes. Being physically active, tracking my mestrual cycle, and watching my diet have helped me a great deal. Yes, I still struggle with my PMDD, but I feel I am better equipped to handle and control  it when I realize what it is my body is experiencing.

As for physical fitness I have a basic weekly routine that I strive to meet. Every week I aim to workout no less that 4 times. When I am focused on meeting a certain goal I increase that to as much as 6 times of a week. On the days I workout I do no less than 50-60 mins. of cardio and 30-45 mins. of strength training. I do get bored easily so I do my best to challenge my muscles by doing different cardio routines. Some examples are using the elliptical, jump roping, running 4 miles, riding my mountain bike, dancing, and workout DVD's.
